ActionAid Ethiopia is looking for experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Officer and thus would like to invite qualified and interested persons to apply.
Post Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
Duty Station: ActionAid Ethiopia, Head Office, Addis Ababa
Type of Employment: Contract, for one year with possibility of extension based on availability of funding and performance.
Purpose of the Job:
Under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, the M&E Officer will contribute to the planning, design, review and adopting overall monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment systems and tools for effective and efficient food security and emergency response project/program implementations; facilitate monitoring and evaluation processes as well as preparation of reports.
Major Roles
- Actively involves in the preparation and consolidation of organizational program development, preparation of plan and budget processes;
- Support the development of participatory program monitoring and impact assessment tools including participatory baseline and community indicators in relation to food security and emergency response and other thematic areas;
- Conduct regular monitoring of food security and emergency response programs in collaboration with implementing partner organizations
- Participate in program and organizational evaluations, reviews and impact assessment processes;
- Ensure the reports of food security and emergency response programs are prepared in compliance with the donor and AA requirements and timely shared to the relevant sections in ActionAid;
- Analyze and evaluate data to ensure effective coordination and achievement of objectives and recommends corrective actions, when required;
- Provide technical support to AAE staff and implementing partner’s to incorporate and practice participatory monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment tools and systems;
- Contribute towards strengthening regular program reviews and reflections culture to enhance continuous program learning in the implementing partner organization and AAE;
- Participate in the documentation and dissemination/sharing of impact assessment and program review processes and reports;
- Actively involves in the preparation of organizational level periodic reports
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
Education: BA degree or MA degree Community Development, Agriculture, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics or a related technical field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 4/2 years of relevant work experience for BA/MA respectively in program development, program management, monitoring and evaluation vis-à-vis community empowerment, food security, disaster response and women development in similar organizations.
Personal Qualities: Internal desire to make a difference in the lives of poor and marginalized people; commitment, strong interpersonal skill, team work and analytical and conceptual thinking; Ability to work under pressure and to frequently travel to regions.
Language: Excellent spoken and written English and Amharic. Knowledge of Oromiffa is an added value.
Computer skills: Proven experience of using data management systems including, SPSS, MS-Excel and so on.
