Position Title: Livestock Officer Tigray Field Office

Duration: Six months extendable (subject to continuity of funds)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Ethiopia, technical supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative for programme implementation, the direct supervision of the Tigray Field Office Coordinator in close collaboration with the FRETH Programme Team and FRETH Regional Initiative Teams, the Livestock Officer will be responsible for technically supporting the implementation of FRETH projects operating in the Tigray Region and surrounding locations covered by the Field Office directed at livestock development in mixed farming and pastoral systems.

Candidates will be assessed against the following minimum requirements

University Degree in Animal Science or a closely related field
Minimum of seven years of professional experience in the development or management of livestock projects at national, regional or district level
Working knowledge (level C) of the FAO official language used for communication within the country (English) and working knowledge of the most widely used local language
