Overall Job Objectives:
The Zonal Coordinator/Mentor will supervise ICAP Ethiopia zonal staff and coordinate all activities at the zonal-woreda-facility and community network level. S/he will follow up the planning and updating the execution of planned activities of the zonal team. S/he will facilitate communication and teamwork and assist in zonal-regional communication and reporting.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of ICAP Regional Director, the Zonal Coordinator/Mentor will have the following duties and responsibilities:
· Work closely with the zonal, woreda & town administration in the zone to establish ownership and sustainability of the HIV/AIDS program
· Provide direct technical assistance to the target components of the health care network supported by ICAP Ethiopia.
· Support the development and implementation of zonal-Woreda-Health Center-Community network plan
· Assist in coordinating monthly performance evaluation meetings pertaining to facility level data and report.
· Coordinate and participate in supportive supervision, review meetings and catchment area meetings
· Responsible for compiling and submitting zonal office monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports
· In consultation with ICAP Regional director, represent ICAP Ethiopia at the zonal and woreda level
· Work with ICAP regional and country office teams in building the capacity of zonal and hospital mentors
· Coordinate, plan and implement mentorship activities within the zone, hospitals and ICAP regional and country technical teams
· Identify mentorship related challenges and work with appropriate zonal, woreda offices and facilities in finding solutions.
· Identify evolving needs for job aids and materials related to mentorship at zonal/woreda, hospitals and health centers and, with ICAP regional and country office teams, support the development of the required materials
· Provide direct technical assistance in the mentorship of the staff and joint supportive supervision to the facilities supported by the zonal office
· Spend about 80% of her/his time in the field doing mentoring and supervision
· Undertake other related activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Job Requirements
· MD or HO; an additional degree in public health is an asset
· 2-3 years work experience working on HIV/AIDS care and treatment
· Experience as Clinical Mentor is highly preferred.
· Ability to establish and maintain teamwork
· Basic computer knowledge (MS office Plus)
· Proficiency in written and spoken English.
