Job Description

Qualification: A minimum of B.Sc. degree in IT/ Computer Science/ Statistics/Related fields. Having experience with Access/EPI Info/EPI data software are added advantages.

Year of Experience: A minimum of two years experience

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a data entry template using either Access/EPI Info/EPI Data software


• Manage and administer the data entry software for the preterm infants study database


• Train data entry clerks in Addis Ababa, Jimma and Gondar


• Maintain the data entry soft ware


• Rectify problems related to the database software and report the problem to the as soon as possible.


• Monitor in collaboration with the study nurse the overall data collection process from recruitment till discharge or death of preterm infants


• Conduct monthly data monitoring for number of subjects recruited per site, missing and incomplete information, unusual values, and other related issues and share a report to the PI


• Ensure the quality of the data from collection to report writing


• Make regular field supervision to minimize systematic errors


• Verification of double data entered and identifying data entry errors


• Over see the data editing, coding and entry at the all sites


• Over see the data archive and documentation at the central data base in Addis Ababa


• Getting a regular backup of the data


• Getting data from Jimma and Gondar regular and merge the three data sets to one data set


• Prepare the data for analysis in consultation with the statistical adviser and the PI


• Prepare a quarterly summary report for the panel discussion for determining cause of death


• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports for feedback in consultation with the PI


• Closely work with other research team members to edit and enter the data


• Closely work with other research team members to rectify problems arose during data collection, entry and archive


• Maintains the confidentiality of all information collected


• Responsible for the property management of electronic equipments at the project office including computers, flash disk and External hard disks

  Salary: Birr 10,000 (ten thousand Birr) per month.
