Job Description
Responsible to lead and implement integrated program approach to improve the livelihoods, nutritional and health status of vulnerable communities living around Waghimira Zone, Amhara National Regional State.
Responsibilities:
- Identify target areas needs and conduct feasibility assessments for potential agriculture/food security/livelihoods/watershed management (including vulnerable households and women groups in promotion of IGG/VSLA, agriculture, livestock improvement, DRM and sustainable land use management interventions)
- Design and participate in required assessments, baselines and evaluations and lead the program post distribution monitoring activities
- Contribute to situation analysis and participate actively in developing food security and livelihoods strategy document
- Propose timely responses/solutions for program development activities and emergency situations seen in the intervention areas
- Contribute to proposal development and FSL program strategy preparation
- Organize and supervise the implementation of identified activities in coordination with other departments ( Nutrition and WASH)
- Work and collaborate transparently and efficiently with all other ACF supporting Departments both at base and capital levels.
- Implement project activities ensuring that services are delivered on time and on budget
- Manage program budget lines and ensure proper and effective use of program resources
- Manage FSL team ensuring that staff have work-plans in place and following up with team members regularly to ensure that activities are on track
- Monitor program progress against both programmatic and budgetary targets
- Prepare Annual, Quarter and monthly Activity Progress Report and submit to his/her immediate supervisor
- Maintain and file al the program soft and hard copies documents.
- Identify the food security and DRM teams` training needs and propose to develop their capacity by delivering of on- job trainings
- Define implementation modalities and assessment/reporting formats (identification and registration of target beneficiaries, distribution of agricultural inputs and monitoring reporting papers/documents)
- Organise the team work and plan of actions (planning responsibilities)
- Participate in the recruitment of food security staffs
- Carry-out personal performance appraisal of his/her team members.
- Liaise with and support key program actors’ to ensure that ACF programs in food security and DRM are running effectively around the intervention area and the region
- Participate Regional, Zonal and Woreda level technical meetings and workshops
- Implement other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Field Coordinator.

Required skills and qualifications
BSc / MSc in Agricultural Engineering/ Soil and Water Conservation/Watershed management /Natural Resource Management/ Agriculture and related fields with at list 7/5 years of experience respectively. NGO experience is advantageous.
- Strong and proven background in Project Management in the North Eastern highlands of Ethiopia / Good technical and practical Knowledge on Food Security/Livelihoods/DRM Strategic Approaches / Watershed and Sustainable Land Use Management Principles, experience in community development, needs assessment and report writing, ability to identify and liaise with target communities,
- Management – Good analytical and program reporting skill – capacity to organise and supervise his/her teams – Computer knowledge- good spoken and written English, able to respect deadlines / team player.
