Job Description

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) wants to recruit employees in the following vacant positions the details of which are mentioned bellow.

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is established on the eve of Ethio-Italian war, on July, 8, 1935 and signed the Geneva Convention on July 25 of the same year and became 48th member of League of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies on 25, September 1935. Since then the Society have engaged on providing Humanitarian services &community based development initiatives.

Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 32 Zonal Branches and 112 District/Woreda Branches and 3673 grass root committees/Kebele Red Cross Committees.

Job Title 1: Head, Afar Regional Branch

Work Unit/ Project/ Program: DSG, Program

Terms of employment: Permanent after probationary period

Place of Work: Afar Region

Qualification Requirements: First degree in Management/ Public Administration/ Disaster Risk Management/ Public Health/ Social Work/ Sociology/ Social Psychology/ Social Anthropology/ Applied Psychology/ Rural & Local Development Studies/ Governance & Development Studies and 8 years related work experience, out of which 3 years in managerial position(s)

Salary: Negotiable

Job Title 2: Head, Woreda Branch

Work Unit/ Project/ Program: Afar Regional Branch

Terms of employment: Permanent after probationary period.

Place of Work: Afar Region

Qualification Requirements: First degree in Management/ Public Administration/Disaster Risk Management/ Public Health/ Social Work) Sociology/ Social Psychology/ Rural & Local Development Studies! Governance & Development Studies/ Educational Planning and Management and 3 years related work experience, out of which 1 year in managerial position(s)

Salary: Negotiable

Job Title 3: Light Vehicle Driver

Work Unit/ Project/ Program: Afar Regional Branch

Terms of employment: Permanent after probationary period.

Place of Work: Afar Region

Qualification Requirements: Level II TVET complete in Passenger Vehicles Driving (≤12 seats) and 0 year. Or 12th grade complete or 10th grade complete in the new education policy, 3rd grade driving license & 2 years driving work experience Or 8th grade complete , 4rd grade driving license & 4 years driving work experience.
