We are recruiting to fill the position:

Specialist, Clearing House

Duty Station: Head Office-Addis Ababa

Reporting to: Manager, Clearing House

JOB PURPOSE

Manages pay-in, balance and pay-out settlement, emergency settlement process, post settlement adjustment, inter-bank payment transfer, Liaises with settlement banks, Central Depository and Finance on handling fund transfer. Handles enquiries from members, Membership Unit and Member Client Relation Unit

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages clearing process and creates trade accounting entries.


• Creates, verifies and authorizes Net Obligations Reports.


• Orders & staples paper copies of Net Obligation Report.


• Records ECX fees and charges on a daily basis.


• Creates Post Settlement Adjustments (PSA).


• Compiles fees, charges, sport contribution and tax report to Finance.


• Compiles electronic tax report to ERCA (Ethiopia Revenue and Customers Authority).


• Prepares monthly report to be sent to the Authority.


• Compiles PSA (Post Settlement Adjustments) status, paid debit note, and outstanding unpaid notes.


• Updates clearing House database on a daily basis, the database for PSA and follows up settlement of PSA (Post Settlement Adjustments).


• Compiles draft Clearing House monthly report.


• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA or MA Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or related;


• B.A. & 5 years of experience OR M.A. & 3 years of experience in banking industry.


• Knowledge on Microsoft applications, particularly MS-Excel and MS word;


• Knowledge on Ethiopian tax legislation;


• Knowledge of Banking industry preferably banking operation;
