Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia is a world leading organization committed to the treatment and reintegration of patients suffering from Obstetric Fistula  and the training and deployment of qualified midwives to prevent Obstetric Fistula and other child birth injuries.

HFE is Founded in 1974 by Drs Catherine and Reginald Hamlin have been caring for the women of Ethiopia for almost 40 years. As well as our main hospital in Addis Ababa we also have 5 regional hospitals, a rehabilitation, and reintegration center and a midwifery school. We also deploy midwives into 25 health centers across the country and provide mentoring and other support services to these health centers.

The Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital would like to invite potential applicants for the following positions:

Job Summary/Basic Function

• To plan and conduct classroom teaching. Clinical practice and to contribute to the overall project of the college and handle daily issues reported by students or tutors, of report to dean when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To prepare lesson plan teaching materials ( Lectures, Power point’s handouts, charts) for the designated course and time frame and photocopy as necessary


• To provide classroom lecture and effective teaching on subjects allocated to him/her according to the course outline presented in the curriculum.


• To deploy or use problem based learning when appropriate and skill based teaching methodology


• To demonstrate theory into practice using dolls, manikins, skeletons, torsos and human subjects


• To program and conduct continuous and relevant monitoring of students giving quizzes, assignments examinations, re-sit exams and invigilate accordingly as assigned


• To obtain feedback from students on teaching and learning process


• To conduct individual or group discussion of past examination with students


• Identify, provide extra-tutorial classes for weak students as deemed necessary and report to the V/Dean


• To correct and submit results to the registrar at the end of each semester and academic ear as well as to make a copy of lecture given during the semester


• To travel to field as required in order contribute a comprehensive and global understanding on maternal health issues related to the vision of the college.

Minimum Education:

• MSC Degree in Midwifery & reproductive health

Minimum Experience:

•  5 years clinical experience and above

                                           2 years and above in effective teaching

Skills And Abilities:-

• Competency in clinical skill


• Theoretical teaching ability


• Communication skill


• Leadership skill
