Ethiopia: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (M&E), Development Food Assistance Program, Ethiopia - Ethiopia

We are currently recruiting for a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (M&E) in Ethiopia who will be responsible for obtaining, analyzing, organizing and interpreting project data for the upcoming food assistance program (DFAP). S/he will work with host country counterparts in developing, strengthening and implementing monitoring systems to track project progress and impact. S/he will monitor and assess project implementation progress as required and provide feedback to colleagues and partners to improve project activities. Responsibilities The M&E Specialist will also develop and maintain systems to collect and analyze information on inputs, outputs, outcomes and impact of the program. S/he will design and lead the implementation of the project’s M&E strategies, requirements and country level activities. In addition, the Specialist will work directly with the technical staff to develop appropriate indicators and select the monitoring and measurement tools for the project implementation and roll-out. S/he will also be accountable for achieving the results against those priorities. This is a leadership role and will serve as a key member of the project team in Ethiopia.


Requirements:


  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or related field. Master’s degree or Bachelor plus an advanced certificate in M&E, statistics, or economics preferred Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience and demonstrated practical skills in monitoring and evaluation of multi-sectoral international development programs Demonstrated ability and skills in analysis and report writing is essential Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing monitoring & evaluation and performance monitoring plans Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies Experience in planning and managing surveys Experience developing and refining data collection tools Excellent knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices is essential Knowledge and significant experience in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and systems required for community development programs Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing monitoring systems and conducting evaluations especially for food security and/or livelihoods programs Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills Able to produce thorough, high quality results within a tight timeframe and meet deadlines and deliverables to partners and donors.
