SNV seeks a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Advisor for an anticipated USAID-funded nutrition and WASH project in Ethiopia. The objectives of the project include working with the Government of Ethiopia and other partners to implement multi-sector nutrition interventions to reduce malnutrition in Ethiopia.
The WASH Advisor will oversee the quality of all WASH interventions implemented through the program. S/he will be responsible for achieving expected WASH outcomes and the integration of WASH into nutrition and agriculture activities. This position will work with the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor to coordinate and systematically disseminate lessons-learned with other USAID-funded WASH activities.
Job Requirements
· An advanced degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. civil or environmental engineering, public health, international development, economics, business administration)
· A minimum of 7 years of experience in the WASH sector, in areas related to successful activity implementation, such as provision of technical expertise for WASH, demand creation, and sanitation marketing
· Demonstrated experience in building private sector capacity to provide WASH products and services
· Prior experience in the Ethiopian WASH sector is desirable, preferably including experience with national level coordination under the One WASH Program (OWNP)
Other Qualifications:
· Fluency in English is preferred
· Extensive experience in Ethiopia (local candidates strongly encouraged to apply)
· Demonstrated organizational skills and a strong track record in meeting deliverable and deadlines.
