About Grounds for Health
Grounds for Health is an international non-profit organization with the mission to reduce cervical cancer among women in developing countries.


The organization is based in the United States with staff there and in Nicaragua, Peru and Ethiopia.
Position Summary
In 2016-2017, Grounds for Health will establish a cervical cancer prevention program at 14 sites in Sidama Zone.


Under direction of the US-based Program Manager, the Clinical Coordinator will work with the Ethiopia Program Coordinator, Community Coordinator and the Ministry of Health to ensure high quality services are established and delivered.


This is a full time, paid position and requires regular travel throughout the Zone.
The Clinical Coordinator will work closely with Grounds for Health staff to:
Train, monitor and supervise health personnel in screening and treatment of cervical precancers.
Establish a strong relationship with the Woreda Health Offices, Zone Health Department, and Regional Health Bureau to ensure provider productivity and clinical quality.
Implement data management systems and procedures, using Ethiopia FMOH forms and reporting monthly to the Program Manager.
Ensure appropriate follow-up for patients with abnormal results.
Coordinate logistics of trainings, campaigns, and ongoing service delivery.
Purchase and distribute supplies and equipment to health centers.
Use internet-enabled digital cervicography to engage the Clinical Director in review of cases.
Support the Community Coordinator in all aspects of demand generation, including training of Health Extension Workers and regular stakeholder meetings.
Represent Grounds for Health in Ethiopia, attend regular meetings with local partners, and cultivate relationships with other organizations.
Maintain open communication with the Grounds for Health Program Manager, including weekly reports and Skype calls.
Track and report all program-related expenses monthly.
Requirements/Qualifications
Medical qualifications: Licensed BSc.


health officer, clinical nurse, or midwife with primary health care delivery experience, women’s health preferred.


Experience with VIA and cryotherapy a plus.


Masters’ of Public Health preferred.
Prior experience working for or with the Ministry of Health in Ethiopia.
Prior experience in training and mentoring, health related or otherwise.
Project management skills including logistics management, financial tracking, and data monitoring and reporting.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
MS Office skills: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Conversational fluency in Amharic, Sidamo and English.
Availability
The position will start in December 2015.
