POSITION: POST SECURITY MANAGER


POSITION TYPE: PERMANENT


SALARY: ETB 15,170.00 per month Negotiable depending on experience


A vacancy has arisen for the position of Post Security Manager B3 (L) at the British Embassy Addis Ababa. This is a key post in the Security Management of a large and prestigious Diplomatic Mission which represents the United Kingdom.


As such the successful candidate will be subject to security clearance which will be ratified with the United Kingdom authorities


Skills and experience required:


• At least BA degree in any related field.


• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.


• Experience at a high management level in a similar or related Security role is essential.


• A good standard of written and spoken English as well as Amharic is essential.


• Computer literacy with accurate typing skills is essential.


• The ability to represent the ROSM and network at the highest levels is essential.


• Be able to manage the security provision for the embassy so that it can deliver an efficient, effective and good value for money service.


• Be open to change and actively seek ways to improve the service and abilities of the security section.


• Ability to work quickly and reliably with little supervision to meet targets with clear and effective decision making skills.


• Be an effective leader during any crisis or period of heightened tensions.


• Be an excellent team player and to contribute and support wider Embassy objectives.


• Be an excellent representative of the Embassy with all contacts, including the Ethiopian authorities, other Diplomatic Missions, NGO’s and other relevant contacts.


Working hours & Benefits:


• Normal working hours are 36 hrs. per week.(The position is full- time position)


• In addition to salary the successful applicant will receive provident fund, medical benefits, 22 days annual leave and 14 public holidays (after the probation period).


• An out of hours Responsibility allowance will be paid.


• The package also includes an official mobile phone, a good level of health insurance and an engaging working environment.


• Housing accommodation is provided on the Embassy Staff Village for which 8% of basic salary is deducted for rent.


• A full training package will be provided.
