Position Title: RH/GBV Programme Officer

Operational Setting:
UNFPA Ethiopia in collaboration with its partner is implementing a project entitled the “Emergency Reproductive Health Response (ERHR) for drought affected communities in East Hararghe Zone of Oromia Region” that is operational in Midega Tola and Fedis woredas. The project provides programmatic and technical support in the areas of sexual and reproductive health including HIV, gender based violence and data collection and use, tar which the services of the incumbent are to oversee and support the implementation of the project, monitoring and evaluation and reporting on timely basis.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the overall direction and supervision of the UNFPA Representative and in collaboration with CO humanitarian program staffs, the selected candidate is expected to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:
In collaboration with the humanitarian officer, facilitate and liaison in order to improve services delivery and information, and improve the visibility of UNFPA in humanitarian work on the field
Assist the implementing partner in RH and GBV programming and implementation of the project for improved response
Raise awareness to implementing partners as Well as community leaders for improved RH anti GBV service delivery including safe motherhood including Post abortion care, Family planning, sexually transmitted infections/ HIV, management of sexual and gender based violence,
Work With partners to reduce the risk and vulnerabilities of Gender Based Violence
Carry out assessments to identify gaps and make proposals to improve
RH and GBV Service delivery and expansion to the target groups in the drought affected populations in East Hararghe
Establish and actively lead the RH Working Group and GBV sub cluster coordination at the field level
Along with the implementing partner, facilitate community sensitization in RH/HIV/GBV topics
Facilitate the provision of capacity building trainings to health services providers based on the annual work plan
Undertake regular monitoring and evaluation of RH and GBV interventions in the project operation areas
Collect, anayze and provide feedback on RH and GBV data to implementing partners and CO
Provide technical support to the zonal health departments and woreda health office in the implementation of the project
Regularly monitor and prepare reports on the proper and effective usage of the commodities and supplies received through UNFPA
Liaise with the local Zonal and woreda Health Offices, UN agencies and NGOs and interact positively with all concerned in the implementation of the project.
Working with Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE), the implementing IP of the project to provide technical assistance and assist the timely implementation of activities and reporting.
Perform any other duties assigned by the CO
