Department Overview
Pact seeks a Marketing Specialist for the proposed five-year USAID-funded Ethiopia TRANSFORM WASH project which will work with the Government of Ethiopia to increase the use of improved WASH products and services in Ethiopia. Through improved water and sanitation services and improved key hygiene behaviors, the activity seeks to ultimately reduce preventable deaths and illness due to diarrheal disease, particularly among children under 5. This position is contingent on award.
Position Purpose
The Marketing Specialist will work under the direction of the COP and will be responsible for managing household and private sector marketing activities. S/he will be responsible for overseeing activities with health extension workers, manufacturers and local providers of WASH products and services.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Specialist will create increased household demand for WASH products and services through private sector enterprises and help create marketing plans for the range of WASH products and services for the Ethiopian context. She/he will help support sanitation marketing to help establish a viable and sustainable sanitation supply chain. The Specialist will work with local authorities to support the need for improved sanitation technologies.

Qualifications

·         Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as business, management, economics, finance or marketing required ·         Minimum of ten years of experience in marketing, private sector development or behavior change especially within the Ethiopian context required ·         Experience withmarketing campaigns, market analyses and developing market strategies required ·         Strong English communication skills, both interpersonal and written required ·         Experience in developing countries required; experience in Ethiopia preferred
