The Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre & Network (HoA-REC&N) focuses on environmental concerns and sustainable development options within the Horn of Africa. It facilitates, strengthens and advocates for initiatives related to environmental conservation and natural resource management. HoA-REC&N seeks candidates for IT Section Head.

Duration: One year, with possibilities of extension upon positive performance

Remuneration: As per the scale of the Centre

Salary: As per the Centre’s Scale

Report to: Deputy Director Administration and Finance

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The IT Section Head is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks and to develop and customize software, the organization website and new technologies.
SCOPE

The IT Section Head reports to the Finance and Administration Director and manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage information technology and computer systems;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

Must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

Education and Experience; Must have M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Science, MIS or B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Science, and MIS and have a minimum of 4 years of proven experience in Managing IT system or 6 years for B.Sc. holder.
