Responsible for the effective implementation & close follow-up of all safety programs polices & procedures as well as best practices on Fire, Occupational & Health, Chemical, Mechanical, Water; Food , hygiene & health Safeties within the property; as per the recommended standards, policies, procedures & practices of both the corporate office as well as the local government regulations.
The individual will also be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Developing, implementing, maintaining and managing a variety of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
- Interacting with government agencies, professional EH&S groups, community advisory panels and corporate EH&S officers to ensure the property is in compliance with corporate & local, regulations.
- Recommending and executing preventative and improvement measures to ensure the enhancement of the safety program.
- Ensuring compliance to safety standards through inspections of operating areas, audits, operation readiness reviews and through review and approval of operating procedures.
- Actively participating in risk and hazard evaluations for safety reviews of existing processes, equipment and new capital investments.
- Providing timely resolutions of safety problems by defining the problem, determining root cause, establishing action plans and priorities, expediting repair and providing technical assistance.
- Responsible for organizing, preparing and conducting regular safety trainings, programs & practices; for conducting safety related meetings; and responsible for preparing, timely recording & safe compiling of all reports, recordings & documents.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years experience in the field, especially in Fire protection, in chemical, in occupational safeties / practices; in Food, hygiene & health safeties / practices. Sound experience in preparing, providing & running different training programs is highly required. A certificate in HACCP trainings is advantageous.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Level Four English language ability (Fluent Knowledge). English language skills with high degree of proficiency in both written and spoken
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, nationally recognized standards and guidelines relevant to the specialized Environmental Health and Safety functions of the position.
- Must possess good computer skills in the Microsoft Office Environment.
- Ability to apply professional approaches to all safety related issues.
- Ability to organize, prepare and conduct regular safety trainings; and ability to run effective meetings.
- Ability to ensure that all Hotel Associates acquires the skills & knowledge of Safety Practices in their day-to-day work.
- Must possess good communication skill in presenting technical reports.
- Knowledge to apply successful planning & administrative principles to all job function.
