1. Transportation/Traffic Engineer
Main Responsibility
The transportation/Traffic Engineer is the main technical person of the project. He/she executes the following activities:
• Analyses the pedestrian, vehicular traffic, traffic accident and road condition data
• Identifies the major causes of accidents on the Bole road
• Evaluates the operational performance of the existing road
• Propose the necessary improvement measures
• Evaluates the impacts of the proposed improvements by applying Engineering principles and by performing simulations
• Prepare final improvement proposal
• Prepare study report, design documents and specifications
• Prepares bill of quantity (BOQ)
The Transportation/Traffic Engineer reports and accountable to Traffic Safety and Management (TSM) Division of Addis Ababa City Government Transport Programs Management Office (AACGTPMO). He/she reports regularly and when requested to the representatives from the TSM. Receives comments and guidance from the TSM staffs.
Qualification
The Traffic/ Transportation Engineer must have at least Master’s Degree in Traffic/Transportation Engineering with Civil Engineering background and that have at least 5 years’ experience in similar projects, familiar with traffic management problems and urban street design or have done research and studies on road safety improvement projects. In addition, an experience in qualitative data analysis and, simulation and modeling of road and traffic.
Quantity- 2
Terms of Employment- Fixed-term contract, for minimum duration of 7 months
Work time- Full Ethiopian working times (i.e. 8hrs per day)
2. Senior CAD Expert
Main Responsibility
The CAD expert prepares the CAD drawings of the existing road with its appurtenant including carriageway, shoulders, pedestrian walk way, markings, signs, signals, intersection details, on-street parking, medians, bus bays and others that will be used for the engineering study of Bole Road Improvement Study Project. The CAD expert also prepares the drawings of the proposed improvement under the guidance of the traffic/transportation engineer.
Qualifications
The CAD expert must have at least B. Sc. Degree in Drafting and at least 6 years of experiences in similar road projects, specifically in preparation of road design drawings using AutoCAD.

3. Senior Surveyor
Main Responsibility
The senior surveyor collects topographic data, prepares digital terrain model (DTM) of the study area and calculates the bill of quantity for all items work under the guidance of the traffic/transportation engineer. He helps the transportation/traffic engineer and senior CAD expert in the preparation of drawings for the road. Qualification At least B. Sc. degree in Surveying and who has more than 5 years’ of experience in road projects, preparation of DTM and bill of quantities, and who has surveying equipment particularly total station. He should be available when called for an activity which requires a surveyor.

Terms of Contract – part-time (on demand) Selection Criteria Selection of the consultants will be made based on the technical and financial proposal submitted by the interested experts. Suitable consultants for the job will be selected by evaluating the technical (academic background, work experience, expression of interest and other necessary documents) and financial (monthly gross salary demanded by the consult) submitted by the applicants.
