The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) is the apex body of the National Chamber System in Ethiopia. ECCSAs mission is to help create a vibrant and dynamic business sector through capacity building, trade and investment promotion and building a better business enabling environment; working with its member sectoral associations and city chambers. The National Chamber has launched a new 5-year strategy (2015-2020) which is aimed at maintaining and deepening the momentum of its advocacy and public private dialogue and engagement with Government while supporting its efforts to enhance the longer term financial sustainability of the Chamber System through better provision of services to the business communities that are its members.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has been assisting the efforts of the Ethiopian Chamber System since 2005 through support for research, advocacy and policy dialogue, which, in turn, has resulted in improved policy, legal and institutional arrangements for private sector development and growth. A new programme of support is now underway that focuses on supporting ECCSA’s sustainability efforts.

Housed within ECCSA is a Programme Management Unit (the PSD Hub) through which Sida’s (and other donor support) is channelled. The Hub governed by an Independent multi-stakeholder board with a mandate from ECCSA to drive implementation of the Sida support programme.

ECCSA is now looking for an experienced and competent Project Manager to lead the PSD HUB

JOB TITLE: Project Manager

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Reporting to the Multi-Stakeholder Steering Board chaired by ECCSA and to Sida, the main duties of the Manager are as follows:

DUTY STATION: Addis Ababa

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The duration of the project is for five years. The initial contract is for a period of one year with the possibility of an extension for subsequent years based on successful performance.

SALARIES AND BENEFITS: Negotiable and attractive
