Manager, Product Development
With duty station in Addis Ababa Head-Office reporting to Chief Strategy Officer, you will be responsible to:
JOB PURPOSE
Lead the Product Development Unit. Provide technical support for the development of products and services. Promote products traded at the Exchange. Devise plans and ensure the implementation of the work plans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the Unit;Coordinates the development of business plans for newly proposed commodities and services;Leads new initiatives regarding products and services; and to diversify the business; Ensure that new initiatives are implemented in accordance with original plans,;Leads and directs market research, marketing and sales activities while developing new products/services;Identify key growth potential areas and initiate studies and implementation; Evaluates and capitalizes on the business opportunities presented to the Exchange;Conducts outreach activities towards market actors in order to increase the liquidity of existing commodities; Produces timely reports on the overall performance of commodities sold at the Exchange;Produces action plan of the unit that is aligned to the strategic plan and ensures its implementation;Lead, mentors and trains staffs in the unit and monitors and evaluate their performance;Prepares and compiles periodical reports;Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
BA or MA/MSc Degree in agricultural economics, marketing management, business management, Economics or related fieldB.A. & 7 years of experience OR M.A. & 5 years of experience in Marketing research, value chain analysis, market intelligence in commodity market.Knowledge of Using statistical data manipulation tools (eg SPSS, etc);Knowledge in analysis of country micro and macro policy issue ;Excellent leadership, planning, time management & prioritizing, organization and decision making skills;
