Overall Responsibility

Working with and reporting to the MSIE MCH Center Manager , Ambulance Driver provides transport and Ambulance services to clinic clients and medical team and outreach team stationed at the center.
Objectives:
Ambulance contributes for the achievement of the following principal objectives at MSIE Clinics and Health Posts:
1. To increase client satisfaction and build reputation of MSIE clinical services
2. To ensure sustainability and financial feasibility of MSIE clinical services
Specific Responsibilities
Drives the vehicle assigned to him safely, with strict observance of traffic rules and regulations and the organization’s internal policy. Transports patients, clients & staff from the center to their homes or from home to the center or form the center to other hospital when instructed. Ensures that the vehicle is utilized for the sole purpose of the organization’s work. Checks and ensures the timely filling and rational use of fuel and oil supplies to the organization’s vehicles. Ascertains that the necessary appliances (spare tyre, fire extinguisher …) are readily available in the vehicle. Ensures proper cleanliness, maintenance, servicing repair and safe keeping of the vehicle. Ensures the annual inspection of the vehicle before the set deadline. Keep proper and up-to-date records of vehicles’ operational data including mileage covered, fuel and oil supplies / consumption, repairs and maintenance. In the event of an accident lodges and follows up claims as per the organization’s insurance policy. Collects and distributes regularly and promptly, mails, parcels, postal and DHL courier consignments, addressed to and on behalf of the organization. Settles bills for utilities and other similar services. Assists in the collection of quotations from suppliers, purchases items of office Center supplies and equipment and delivers to the store, in accordance with the organization’s established practice. Undertakes any other duties that may be assigned to him.
Person Specification

Educational Qualification:
10th or 12th Grade complete with renewed and neat 3rd Grade Driving License.
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant experience. Proven defensive driving skill and off the road driving experience. Experience in Ambulance Driving in Hospital
Additional Skills, Attitudes and Attributes
Awareness and commitment to traffic regulations Awareness of insurance policy terms and conditions Ability to withstand pressures. Having a good knowledge of auto mechanics Good track record in off the road driving skill. Willingness to work in shift and extra hours Client and keen service oriented. Having First Aid training is a plus.

Duration of employment: 2 years with possibility of extension based on availability of funding.
