All Africa Leprosy Tuberculosis and rehabilitation training center (ALERT) would like to hire qualified candidates for the following post

Job Title: Clinical Trial Laboratory Coordinator

Supervisor: Clinical Trial Team Leader and Laboratory Manager

Duty Station: ALERT center

.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Facilitate coordination of the daily technical activities of the clinical trial laboratory.

·         Ensuring quality laboratory management in the clinical trial laboratory. 

·         Planning and managing the resources and activities in the clinical research lab.

·        Maintain quality checks on safety of laboratories, including biohazards and insure maintenance of the facilities according to Good Laboratory Practices.

·          Protocol revision and SOP preparation for each test and equipments when necessary.

·         Assist in training and supervising new and guest trainees coming to the laboratory.

·        Manage and coordinate operational policies and procedures; coordinate with research staff on issues which impact laboratory services.

·         Participate in different research activities.

·         Provide accurate, timely and cost effective testing of Research samples to aid in the diagnosis of disease in compliance and harmony with the quality management system.

·         Responsible for accurately completing records and reports and other statistical information for master files or databases.

·         Adhere to Laboratory Quality Policy Management, GCP and GCLP guidelines.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader or the lab manager. 

Training/experience and skill

·         Training on  Laboratory Quality Management System, GCP and/or GCLP, Biosafety and Biosecurity Management is advantageous

·         Experience in coordinating research laboratories is required

·         Excellent command in verbal and written English.

Personal attributes

·         Willingness to maintain a team based working atmosphere in different laboratories of the institutes.

·         Willingness to take responsibility of laboratory equipments.

Duration: one year with possible extension

Qualification Requirement: MSc degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from recognized Universities with professional registration license.

Work Experience

- Five years and above experience in clinical laboratory testing and management

- Two years experience in research laboratory that has at least one year experience in Clinical Trial Laboratory coordination is a requirement
