SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is a non-profit, non-political and non-denominational international organization. At present it has seven children’s villages and affiliated facilities located in different regions of Ethiopia. SOS Children’s Villages provides abandoned, orphaned and destitute children with a new and permanent home.
The SOS Children’s Village Program in Bahir Dar is looking for a competent and able Village Director who meets the requirements stated bellow.

Position summary
 
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Village Director leads the SOS Children’s village and co-ordinates all village activities and is responsible and accountable for the overall development of the SOS Children’s Village. The Village Director assures the quality of child and youth care within the framework of the SOS family child-care model. Besides, the job holder ensures the development of all village co-workers and directly guides and supports each SOS mother to ensure the well-being of the SOS families. The Job Incumbent guides and supports the SOS youth care co-workers and promotes strong links between SOS families, youth care co-workers and village co-workers. Moreover, the Village Director ensures that the needs of children and youth are identified, respected and protected and  coordinates the planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation processes for the SOS children’s villages. Furthermore, the job holder supports other form of alternative child care interventions.
