DUTY STATION: Addis Ababa
JOB TITLE: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Documentation)
REPORTS TO: Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning Team Leader
JOB SUMMARY:
The M&E Officer will participate in the design and implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), and planning system for the integrated family health Program (IFHP) including Obstetric Fistula Elimination Project (OFEP). S/He will primary be responsible for the documentation and sharing of IFHP’s promising practices within the scope of the M&E Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs and implements participatory documentation and sharing system for the IFHP including OFEP.
• Assists M&E team to conceptualize, develop and implement the monitoring and evaluation system to collect and report on data related to achievement of project goals and objectives
• Participates in the creation and adaption of monitoring tools and forms, including training materials to accompany them, for collection of project data
• Participates in the creation and adaption of survey design, such as the design of data collection tools, including survey questionnaires, key informant interview schedules, facility assessment and supervision tools, including training materials.
• Assists program staffs in annual work plan preparation and performance analysis
• Assists in the development of indicators to measure results of projects
• Assists program staffs to learn how to use a system for data collection to measure progress against project indicators and objectives
• Assists M&E team to conduct data quality checks, verify data consistency, prepare required quarterly and annual progress reports
• Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Demography, Monitoring and Evaluation or related fields
• A minimum of five years of experience in the field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills
• Experienced user of software packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and at least one statistical software package (SPSS, EPI-INFO, STATA, SAS or similar)
• Experience with database construction and/or management
• Fluency in both written and spoken English Amharic
• Proven ability to work independently and with attention to details
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the country
SALARY: As per salary scale of the organization.
