SOLARKIOSK AG is an award winning holding company conducting sustainable energy and retail business in developing countries. It is based in Berlin (Germany) and currently has six subsidiaries in Africa and projects in ten countries in Africa/Asia/Americas. For our Ethiopian subsidiary, which was established in 2012 and where we launched our very first prototype, we are looking for a dynamic Managing Director at the earliest date possible. We are looking for a personality that is excited by the challenge of leading the steep growth of an innovative company with an experienced and highly motivated team in the space of renewable energy and retail, and who is keen to live and work in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, for at least two years.
Responsibilities:
As the Managing Director you will have the overall responsibility of our Ethiopian subsidiary. You will lead the local team in Ethiopia (approx. 20 people) and build up the company’s organizational structure and business model to our ambitious growth plans and assure maximum success. Your responsibilities will include amongst others:
Lead the management boardSupervise all department heads (technical, business development, financial, retail sales & marketing, supply chain & logistics, administration & HR)Elaborate and regularly adapt the company’s business strategy, in accordance with the Holding strategy and directivesLead the further development of the company’s business model, in particular the development and optimization of its service and product range for its retail businessRelationship management and development with strategic partners, government authorities and international investorsOverall responsibility of achieving the subsidiary’s goals, in particular sales and profit goalsReport to and coordinate closely with the holding team in Berlin, Germany
Profile:
University degree in business, finance, economics or equivalent;
At least 7-‐10 years work experience, preferable in a renown wholesale/retail companyOutstanding management skills; ideally proven track record in achieving goals through delegationExperience in developing/emerging markets and a high level of intercultural competence preferable, but not a mustHighly independent working style; ability to set priorities and highly self-‐organized; a structured working styleDynamic, take initiative to make a difference, outgoing character who is eager to achieve high targets – and be rewarded for that Keen to face challenges, business-‐wise as well as culturally, and the ambition to manage them successfullyFluent in English, orally and in writing, additional local languages are a plusGood command of MS OfficeEnjoys working in an international environmentWilling to live in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) for at least 2 yearsEnthusiastic about what we do!
