CUAMM, in collaboration with South West Shoa Zone Health Department and Wolisso St. Luke Catholic Hospital, is supporting a Primary Health Care Program in the Districts of Wolisso Urban, Wolisso Rural, Goro and Wonchi with the primary aim of improving the accessibility of maternal, perinatal and neonatal services provided in the intervention area. At Hospital level CUAMM is supporting the provision of clinical/specialized services, along the continuum of care, with the aim of increasing the quality of services.
CUAMM intends to strengthen and scale-up this program, also integrating a specific component related to Female Cancer, that foresees the implementation of the “see&treat” strategy in a number of selected Health Center, and at Hospital level , providing cryotherapy and LEEP, as well as the realization of training and raising awareness activities at community level.
This project will also guarantee the integration of Tb activities at community level.

Overall responsibilities of Position:
The Community Mobilization Officer will initiate and implement different awareness creation activities for cervical cancer screening and treatment services and identification and referrals of TB suspects from the community.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular meetings with community members to discuss project objectives, mobilize community participation and act as a mentor throughout the awareness creation activities.
2. Work closely with PLHIV to raise their awareness about cervical cancer screening and use the services.
3. Train health extension workers and community volunteers on basics of cervical cancer and community TB identification and referral mechanisms.
4. Work with the health care workers, health extension workers and community volunteers for the implementation of awareness creation activities about cervical cancer screening and treatment services.
5. Together with the project coordinator schedule and conduct health education and awareness creation activities in schools, health facilities and other institutions.
6. Compile and report monitoring and evaluation data related to awareness creation activities of cervical cancer and community TB referrals mechanisms (Engage TB).
7. Routinely monitor the overall awareness creation activities and communicate findings to the stakeholders.
8. Raise any challenge to the project coordinator.
9. Liaise and collaborate with other mobilization actors when required.
10. Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partner and other CUAMM staff.
