Resident Engineer (Bridges)

URS is recruiting for an experienced Resident Bridge Engineer to work on one of our projects in Ethiopia. The project includes construction of two major bridges across the Nile river and its tributary.

This position will require the use of broad skills and knowledge associated with Bridge Construction Supervision works including contract and project management. You will lead a Team of local engineers and supervise all works undertaken by the Contractors; review and approval of all Submittals as well as technical supervision of all staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*Managing bridge construction component of the project to meet time, cost and quality requirements
*Contract & Project management
*Bridge Construction Supervision
*Geotechnical site investigations supervision
*Provision of management leadership to a team of engineers
*Prepare and transmit all site directions and instructions related to bridge works
*Assist in the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of the punch lists.

Requirements:
•Significant contract supervision experience;
•Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science (Civil Engineering);
•Knowledge of bridge design;
•Experience in supervision of major bridge construction (>100m spans);
•Experience in working as part of a team managing several construction contracts;
•Experience in piling, earthworks, concrete works, structural steelwork;
•Familiar with bridge construction codes and standards;
•Familiar with FIDIC Conditions of Contract;
•Experience in quality assurance in construction contracts;
