Civil Engineer - Water Sanitation, Bonga (Kaffa Region), Ethiopia

CVM Italy is urgently looking for a civil engineer who will dedicate 2 years of his/her life to serve the people of Bonga (Kaffa Region) - Ethiopia to assist the communiites in the construction of water points to render the water they drink potable. The candidate should be able to depart to Ethiopia as soon as possible to get start with the project.

Millions of children die each year as a consequences of drinking non potable water. An engineer can change this for the people of Bonga by working with the CVM's local team to change the polluted water of springs into potable water for people . In Italy Engineers work to build structures, in CVM Engineers work to save lives especially of the little ones the small children under 5 years. What can be more fulfilling for any engineer to know that well after they have concluded their two years in Bonga as a volunteer they will still be saving lives as the structures constructed will remain for years.

CVMs former engineer Anna - was a volunteer in Ethiopia for 3 years is now working on the whole development of water in the southern African nations . If you are considering an experience in Africa then this project will assist you in living with rural people and to really understand their lives.

Location: Ethiopia (Bonga) Duration: 24 months (starting As Soon As Possible)
Salary: According to the parameters laid down by Law 49/87 and Italy Foreign Affair Minister guidelines

Qualifications Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with good knowledge of building and plumbing
