Senior Automation Technician

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Automation Engineer, the job holder is responsible to ensure the operational effectiveness and efficiency of all plant and equipment in the Brewery requiring Electrical power and controls at optimum cost. He /she monitor and controls electrical, electronics and PLC systems to ensure that product quality is maintained.

 Key Responsibilities:

·         Directs Maintenance and operation of power generators and auxiliaries, and production and distribution of power for production.

·         Carries out maintenance of machines as planned/scheduled.

·         Executes all electrical corrective maintenance.

·         Execute (inspection) work orders and this register in the maintenance control system.

·         Carriers out breakdown analysis and follow up on countermeasures.

·         Keeps control systems functional.

·         Ensures availability of plant on ‘Auto’ control use.

·         Ensures attainment of set norms of machines and plants.

·         Changes set norms when required to do so.

·         Ensures effective working of KWHR meters and daily recording of KWH readings.

·         Ensures perfect working condition of power factor correction.

·         Highlight areas of high consumption for corrective action.

·         Raise indent for standard stock packages.

·         Organize the workplace, documentation and toolboxes according to the 5S standards.

·         Participate in technical improvement teams and propose technical improvements.

·         Performs other duties as assigned by his supervisor

Required Competencies

·         TVET Level 3 in Electrical Craft OR related fields

·         5+ years of work experience as electrician.

·         Integrity and Flexibility

·         Numerical Literacy
