Job Description
The Business Development Officer will support the development of competitive bids; prepares proposals/concept notes, cultivates relationships with peer organizations and local partners and coordinates specific pre-positioning efforts. He/She will liaise with business development staff based in the International Office.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Support coordination of select proposals. The intern will coordinate proposal meetings, prepare meeting notes, and assist the National Office in the use of proposal tools. Specific duties include analyzing solicitation requirements, preparing compliance matrix, RACI matrix and proposal calendars.
- In close collaboration with the Proposal Manager, assist in the development of assigned sections of proposals. These can include: Past Performance References, Staff Bios and Resumes, and other sections of the technical application as assigned.
- Secures support letters from the government (ministries/departments) at the different levels and also from Local Partners.
- Participates in the development and review of budgets and budget narratives by supporting Finance Director in the use of pricing tools and templates.
- Liaises with HR to support the recruitment of key personnel.
- Support the development of the teaming agreement process.
- Support pre-positioning efforts, including background research, analysis of donor priorities and peer organizations.
- Work with the Grant Officer to ensure that BRIDGE recording is complete and up to date. Document the process for future learning
Terms of Employment: Six months.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct background research that can be used for the development of new child development programs.
- Ability to use Excels.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Fluent in English – written and oral.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
Education:
- BA degree in development or Social Works or related fields
Experience:
- Five years of experience in program development; working with international NGOs is required,
