GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of development, resiliency and humanitarian responses – working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders. Currently GOAL Ethiopia’s major funders are USAID/OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid/MAPS, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA.GOAL currently work in over 25 woredas across four Regions of Ethiopia and we deliver a range of programs including child protection, development, nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation. In 2005 GOAL, in partnership with USAID/OFDA, established the Humanitarian Response Programme (HRP) to respond to emergency nutrition situations in Ethiopia. This programme has grown substantially over the years, and is now multi-donor and multi-sectorial, with interventions throughout Ethiopia
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post of Admin. & Finance Assistant I for its Humanitarian Response Programme Office in Awassa. The incumbent will be responsible for payments and assisting the Admin & Finance Officer. Ensuring accuracy and timing of payments that are fully supported by appropriate documentation, authorization and coding. Assist in the preparation of monthly BMT and SAGE cashbook and quarter government report.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be an experienced with humanitarian works. You’ll administer the Finance and Human Resources of the programme area. Your experience will include like providing guarantying proper administration and finance support of the programme by applying all corresponding policies and ensure consistent HR support and practical implementation of all tools. You must be eligible to work in Ethiopia.
Diploma in Accounting or related field with 2 – 3 years’ experience in Finance in an NGO environment. Very good application of SAGE and BMT. High level of accuracy, attention to details Very good knowledge and application of MS-Office, specially Excel. English communication skill (written and spoken).Knowledge of USAID/OFDA, ECHO, EHAF, Irish Aid, etc. fund management. Flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate. Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities, Gender Sensitive.
Desirable qualities, Skills and Competences: (list of qualities that are considered desirable for the specific post):
· Having an INGO experience will be an advantageous.
· Knowledge and application of advanced excel.
· Knowledge of local language.
· Knowledge and application of other accounting software package, Peachtree, SUN, etc.
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary:
Birr 5, 124.00/month
Transportation Allowance – 10% of monthly salary
Medical Allowance – Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Hardship Allowance, 30% – 50% (depending on the location) of monthly salary
