Farm Manager
(Dry beans)
This is a challenging and exctiting (one year renewable contract) opportunity for a hardy farm manager, good communicator with outstanding personnel, planning and managerial skills. An appropriate tertiary qualification in agriculture and a minimum of 8 years practical experience in a similar managerial position are pre requisites. The canditate must be fluent in English and expert dry bean knowledge will count in the applicants favour.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with other farm managers and will report directly to the managing director and owners.
The successful candidate will be responsible for both long term planning and the day-to-day management as well as the general maintenance of the farm and its equipment from growing, harvesting, washing and sorting. The farm is being developed to 1800ha of dry beans, including light speckled, pinto and red kidney beans.
The ability to manage costs and implement financially beneficial farming methods is essential.
The implementation of quality standards, training of workers, keeping of block records, harvest estimates, and laboratory driven quality control are all part of this challenging position.
The salary is competitive in accordance with the applicant's experience and a full range of benefits unique to an established company, supplemented.
