HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Ethiopia seeks the following professional for the Wag-Hemra Rural Future Initiative (WH-RFI) 2012-2015 Project to be implemented in close partnership with Wag-Hera Zone Administration in Sekota, Amhara National Regional State.
Position Project Manager
Duty: To be responsible for the management of the HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Technical Support Office (TSO) in Sekota.
To support the Wag-Hemra Zone Administration, the Zone Department of Agriculture, Woreda Administrations and Agriculture Offices and other local institutions in the implementation of the Wag-Hemra Rural Future Initiative (WH-RFI).
To support training and capacity building in rural communities of the WH-RFI project.
Duty Station: Sekota, with frequent travelling in the Wag-Hemra Zone and Amhara Region.
Qualifications: MSc in agriculture, rural development, natural resource management, agricultural extension or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 5 years proven experience in project management with focus on natural resources development.
Should possess:
• Good management, leadership and conceptual skills
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and team spirit;
• Good training and capacity development skills;
• Ability to work with government rural extension structures and rural communities;
• Willingness to engage in extensive travelling and field work in the Wag-Hemra Zone and Amhara Region;
• High degree of initiative, integrity and accountability;
• Computer skills (MS Office software package, GIS ArcView (optional).
Languages: Amharic (mother tongue), Hemtegna is an advantage and good command of English in word and writing.
Salary and other benefits will be as per organization rules and regulations and period of employment contract for the duration of the project with possibility of extension.
