Bethlehem Trading PLC is looking to recruit a highly professional and competent general manager to administer the various retail businesses under the Bethlehem umbrella including Bethlehem Plaza, a ground + seven story building situated in the heart of Megenagna next to Road Transport Authority office.
Job Title: Managing Director (MD)
Educational Background B.A. Degree in Business Management or Marketing, preferably MBA with a specialization in Finance. Extensive training in leadership and management techniques will be an asset.
Experience 10 years and above in business management out of which 5 years in general managerial position. Other managerial positions held in import and retail companies will also be an advantage.
Job Summary
The Managing Director is accountable to the Board of Directors of the company and will be responsible for the overall performance of the organization. The successful candidate will be required to deal with the full operation of the company including human resources, marketing, logistics, information technology, customer service and finance. In doing so the position holder will be expected to:
• In conjunction with the governing body, draft and establish a working business and development plan
• Take responsibility for overall management of the company and delivery of the business plan
• Visualize the overall direction of the business and the market and report performances accurately and regularly
Required Competence and Qualities
• Identify key drivers of revenue and cost of the various businesses and the building and perform profitability analysis with the view to recommending ways of cost minimization and profit maximization
• Coordinate and oversee the safe and secure operations and maintenance of the facilities of Bethlehem Plaza in a cost effective manner, aimed at long-term preservation of the asset value of the building
• Create and maintain strong and effective identity for the building and the various businesses by employing advertising techniques and brand management skills
• Coordinate and motivate various teams and employees of the business for better yield and productivity
• The candidate should be analytical and creative and possess sound leadership skills with the ability to work in a competitive environment
