Country Representative - Ethiopia

As our Country Representative in Ethiopia, you will play a key role in delivering our vision – enabling some of the world’s poorest people to access water and sanitation. The Country Representative will be vital to our success across Ethiopia, which, while facing major practical challenges, has significant potential for transformation in today’s political climate.

The role of Country Representative is significant and highly varied, and will involve:

Providing visionary leadership to our Country Programme across Ethiopia.Contributing to our global and regional management.Ensuring that our Country Programme continues to develop in the right direction.Leading the implementation of our dynamic, ambitious new strategy across your region.Motivating and overseeing our staff and partners.Influencing private and public institutions in Ethiopia.Building a widespread awareness of the potential benefits our work has to offer.Ensuring that our annual plans and budgets are promptly and efficiently delivered.Representing and promoting our mission, values and goals externally.

To succeed as our Country Representative in Ethiopia, you must be able to demonstrate:

Superb and inspiring leadership skills.Impressive track record in senior management.Ability to lead a team to meet defined objectives and targets.Sound knowledge of international development.Specific knowledge of Ethiopian social, political and development issues.Strategic vision and planning skills.Proven ability to develop operational short and medium term plans.Experience of raising funds from governments or international agencies.Fluent spoken and written English.Background of developing strong partnerships with national level NGOs.High level of IT literacy, including knowledge of MS Office.Ability to manage large budgets with a diverse international donor base.
