Location: Ethiopia
ADRA Ethiopia is currently seeking a Chief of Party for an upcoming multiyear program in Ethiopia. The possible start date is July 2011, and the position is contingent upon ADRA Ethiopia being awarded the project. The program’s goal is to improve chronic food insecurity and increase food availability by commodity and distribution management.
The Chief of Party will be the primary coordinator of all activities and will be primarily responsible for all aspects of program implementation. The COP will act as the major liaison with USAID and is the supervisor of all other personnel.
Qualifications:
• Must be fluent in English; fluency in Amharic preferred.
• 10 years experience in managing complex multi year development projects, including direct supervision of highly qualified professional team and financial management duties
• Thorough understanding and involvement in food security interventions, policy research, planning, project design and implementation
• At least five years experience in leadership position in commodity-based food security projects
• Familiarity with USAID rules and regulation, and experience as primary liaison person with donors such as USAID, EC, UN Agencies
• Masters degree in management, international development, agricultural or related field is preferred
