Grade: Fixed Term, G7, 1 Year (With possibility of extension)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision from the Head of Sub Office and technical support from the Nutrition Officers at Country Office, the Assistant Programme Nutrition, will perform the duties:
Program implementation: Ensure the follow up of nutrition programmes implementation by Government and NGO partners. Be involved in multi-agency emergency nutrition assessments. Identify needs for technical and managerial support to regional Government and cooperating partners. Work with Ministry of Health and DPPB to roll out the extension of 2nd generation Woredas and organize the OTP/TSFP continuum of care. Organise regular meetings with partners and supervision visits for CP staff on the job capacity building Participate in the design of delivery through mobile teams when required. Ensure that Nutrition is integrated in other activities for the implementation as stated in programmes guidelines and protocols e.g. relief and PSNP. Advise Sub Office regarding the integration of Nutrition activities. Review at first level the cooperating partner’s proposals for MOUs. Represent WFP in health and nutrition task force meetings at regional level, especially meetings with regional Health Bureau, RDRMCC and regional health/Nutrition Cluster and share highlights of the meeting. Participate In cluster coordination meeting and food and health related issues.
Commodity Management: analyze commodity requests from partners and ensure timely delivery. Follow up with DPPB on TSFP commodities dispatch and distributions.
Reporting: Compile and share biweekly updates on the emergency nutrition situation. Review and analyse monthly and quarterly reports from TSFP regional coordination (DPPB) and cooperation partner’s reports, as well as monitoring reports. Submit monthly reports to CO Nutrition Unit highlighting the programmes achievement compared to plans. Contribute to SO sitRep and other project documents.
Monitoring: Follow up the monitoring activities done by the regional and area coordination unit and share reports. Suggest recommendations for improvement based on programme results. Liaise with NGO’s collaborating with WFP in the region and organize supervision/monitoring visits. Evaluate the over all performance of TSFP staff.
Training: Participate in CMAM training organized at regional level for HEW and FDAs. Organize training for partners when required in partnership with Country Office Nutrition unit, Government and partners at regional level. Perform any other tasks asked by supervisors.
