OPEN for Local firm/company with the Team Leader have an international experience.

1: Topic: Consultancy services: To Conduct Participatory Gender Review for Ethiopia County Office (ECO CPD 2011-2015) for period of 3 months.

UNICEF Ethiopia Office is seeking Request for Proposals (RFP) from Local Firm/Company/Organisation with a composition of a Team Leader having an international experience – to Conduct Participatory Gender Review for Ethiopia County Office.

2: Background:UNICEF reiterated its commitment to gender quality and the empowerment of women and girls in many of its policy and programme documents and implementation as well as organizational practices. The UNICEF mission statement (1996) expresses that the organization ‘aims, through its country programmes, to promote the equal rights of women and girls and to support their full participation in the political, social, and economic development of their communities’. The promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is central to the mandate of UNICEF emanating from the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

Experience and qualification:The team leader should be a gender expert with an advanced university degree in social sciences, gender, international development or related field with at least 10 years of experience in evaluation and gender assessments with good understanding and knowledge of participatory methodology and familiar with UNICEF mandate, policies and country programme processes and areas of work, and UN programming and strategies in least the team leader should have an international experience.
