Terre des Hommes Netherlands is looking for a Project Coordinatorto be based in Gondar, North Gondar Zone, Amhara region, Ethiopia with frequent travel to the field. Terre des Hommes Netherlands supports services for children in need through partner organisations.
· Develop operational plan/strategy for the assigned project
· Develop and coordinate work plans with local partners for the assigned project(s)
· Support and monitor the assigned project(s) through regular communications and programme visits and ensure that programme and finance commitments as per partner agreements are being fulfilled.
· Support the marketing communication department with information and materials of the project(s) for marketing and communication, e.g. for the newsletters.
· Ensure that all scheduled partner and project progress reports (financial and programme) are delivered timely and are of good quality, according to TdH-NL standards, and donor requirements, analyse the received information and compile the necessary reports.
· Maintain the database and regularly update project documentation/files for reference by all concerned.
· Manage Finance/admin procedures for the field office in Gondar and file/document all relevant financial/admin documents pertaining to the project and field office activities
· Work on and maintain a good working relationship with project partners
· Guide project partners, give capacity building training and give direction so that they improve on quality of work, efficiency, effectiveness of the desired outputs and sustainability of results.
· When requested, perform other duties as deemed relevant by the country manager (e.g. networking, fundraising activities).
· Whereby self-implementation is concerned, jointly with the Partner Support Officer – Child Protection agree with the Country Manager on coordination of activities to be implemented
Qualifications
· Knowledge of development cooperation, sociology, child rights, health or education up to bachelor level.
· A minimum of four years experience in a similar position in a similar organisation (International NGO, donor)
· Knowledge of and experience in project planning, project cycle management
· Knowledge of and experience in project implementation, and coordination
· Experience with Child Protection programming and civil society organisations is a pre
· Experience with financial/admin management
· Knowledge of the political, religious and social structures of Ethiopia, and for North Gondar Zone, Amhara region, specifically, is a pre
We are specifically looking for someone who:
· Works well with numerous external parties, particularly local civil society organisations and government agencies
· Also works well independently
· Has good presentation and facilitation skills
· Can act as a mediator and has conflict resolution skills
· Excellent writing skills in English
· A person who is self -motivated and passionate about child protection
