USAID/ETHIOPIA is accepting applications from interested individuals for the position of Project Management Specialist (Livelihoods Advisor) for the Assets and Livelihoods Transition (ALT) Office
Location of Work: USAID/US Embassy Eritoto Road
Final Closing Date: September 16, 2011
Salary Range: Birr 131,505 to Birr 290,173 per annum depending cm the selected candidate’s earning history, qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree in Economic Development and/or other social sciences (for example, Economics/Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Rural Development), is required.
Experience: At least five years’ work experience is required, with an emphasis on the design, implementation, and monitoring of food security/livelihoods programs. Training on USAID project and financial management systems is preferred.
Language: Level IV (fluent) English and Amharic. The ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Amharic is required. Knowledge of more than one Ethiopian language would be highly useful.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The incumbent should be familiar management of donor-funded programs, and the functions of federal and regional governments in Ethiopia. The position also requires a high level of skill in written and verbal communication, management, social and professional judgment, interpersonal in cross cultural and multi-level settings, including interactions with senior officials of the U.S. Embassy and federal and regional governments, and use of computer programs such as word, excel, and power point.
