Chief of Party - Value Chain Enhancement - Ethiopia

CHF International is seeking a Chief of Party for an anticipated USAID-funded agriculture value chain enhancement program focusing on high value crops in key areas.  The Chief of Party will provide overall management and general technical direction of the entire program. S/he will serve as a representative to the program, liaising with the donor as well as Government of Ethiopia and other partners. This position will be responsible for the program achieving target results, and will identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in agricultural economics, agronomy, business administration, or a related field.10+ years of experience in a field capacity, designing, implementing, and managing large-scale agricultural value chain, agribusiness, and/or rural development projects for USAID, USDA, World Bank and/or other donors.Demonstrated success working with private sector, agribusinesses, and government stakeholders to achieve improvements in incomes, productivity, or job creation.10+ years of experience managing large ($15M+), multi-year donor-funded development programs. In-depth knowledge of USAID programmatic, compliance and reporting requirements. Innovative program development and management skills.Superior written and verbal communication skills in English.Prior experience in Africa required; prior experience in Ethiopia preferred.
