To support implementation of Ethiopia Malaria Indicator survey 2015 (MIS 2015), Malaria Consortium will facilitate technical and administrative arrangements. For this purpose, a project coordinator will be recruited. The coordinator will work closely with the Federal Ministry of Health, EPHI, Addis Ababa University, UNICEF, WHO, ICAP, MACEPA/PATH, Addis Continental Institute of Public health, Regional Health Bureaus and other partners. The coordinator will have the following duties and responsibilities: -
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordination with the EPHI/FMOH, the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) MACEPA, WHO, UNICEF, PMI/USAID, Malaria Consortium and other relevant MIS partners.
• Finalization of a survey protocol, including sampling design and budget
• Coordinate the submission of the protocol for ethical clearance with- relevant partners.
• Coordinate, with the support of partners, the development of a financial management system to track income and expenditure.
• Coordinate the procurement and supply management for carrying out MIS
• Coordinate the implementation of community sensitization activities for MIS field work activities
• Coordinate activities related to field testing of MIS Standard Operating Procedures of the survey and ensure the development of seamless procedure
• Coordinate activities related to the TOT and field training of field staff, including identifying
• Coordinate and oversee field staff operations
• Coordinate the recruitment of staff for diagnosis and crosschecks of blood specimens collected in the field;
• Coordinate the data retrieve, collating, compilation, analysis and report preparation with partners
• In a joint mission with EPHI & partners, organizes MIS results dissemination workshop.

• Develops plans into clearly defined objectives that take account of changing circumstances
Education (Qualifications):
• MSc. in Biomedical Science (Parasitology, Entomology) Or Epidemiology or MPH levels of training; Training on malaria prevention and control. Training & experience in malaria and other communicable diseases research is an asset.
Work Experience:
• More than 5 years work experience in malaria prevention and control and related operational studies/surveys,
Language:
• Good working knowledge of English and the official language
Other Skills:
• Computer skills and able to use MS Office,
Duration of Employment: 12 months
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to various parts of the country
