The EthiopiaCommodity Exchange (ECX) is a new initiative for Ethiopia and the first of its kind in Africa. We are recruiting to fill the position:
Specialist, Corporate Communications
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Corporate Communication
Duty Station: Head Office-Addis Ababa
JOB PURPOSE
Assist the management in building and sustaining strategic relationships with the external environment by producing, editing, documenting as well as distributing publications and audiovisual materials, and updating the website.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Produces contents for all publications (periodical and non-periodical);
2. Ensures the production of audiovisual materials, advertisements, TV and Radio programs, documentary films;
3. Facilitates media and public relations, including the production and effective distribution of press releases;
4. Provides content for web updates;
5. Monitors media ;
6. Reviews and edits corporate related publications/information, including translation oversight;
7. Ensures that the contents of ECX’s publications and audiovisual materials conform with the objectives of ECX;
8. Writes, edits and follows up the production of audiovisuals and publications of (magazine, newsletter, brochure and other forms of communications) on the scheduled date and timely distribution, and documents for future reference;
9. Proofreads and ensures that the necessary corrections are made before the final print of all materials;
10. Provides support where appropriate in the preparation of the ECX’s Annual Reports;
11. Attends all newsworthy events related to the ECX and prepares and/or edits news and comments connected with the event;
12. Engages in graphic design works for publications, sign-posts, posters, website etc.;
13. Researches on media to make sure appropriate channels of communication are used to reach targeted audiences ;
14. Assists in the successful execution of corporate wide events;
15. Participates in hosting incoming visitors and guests;
16. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
· BA or MA in linguistics, journalism, communication, political science & international relations
· B.A. & 4 years of experience
OR
· M.A. & 2 years of experience in track record on print journalism (reporting, copy editing, editor-in-chief, editorial ….),Public relations especially in a business setting
