Regional Data Coordinator Job in Ethiopia by Population Council - 2015


Job Description:

                                                  
The Population Council is an international, nonprofit, and nongovernmental organization established in 1952 to address population and development issues in developing countries. Population Council conducts research worldwide to improve policies, programs, and products in three main areas: HIV and AIDS; poverty, gender, and youth; and reproductive health.
 
The Population Council is planning to conduct a Formative Research study on HIV Care and Support Continuum in the selected regions of Oromia, Tigray, Gambella and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Regional Data Coordinator based in Addis Ababa.




Job Requirements:
Successful candidates should fulfill the following requirements:
 
Knowledge, ability and skill requirements:Verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English;Demonstration of effective interpersonal communication skills;Flexible, reliable, and culturally sensitive;Proactive; initiative seeker, and able to work under minimal supervision;Experience working in community health care settings and knowledge of health care delivery systems particularly at the woreda level. Able to walk long distances in the field.Responsibilities:

Launch the study activities in each woreda and supervise data collection processConduct key informant interview with stakeholders at woreda and region levelReceived and review data collected by study interviewersOversee data entry. Maintain and remit electronic and hard copies of all data, including data collection tools and audio recordings, to Population Council office, Addis Ababa 
Qualification: Degree in statistics, public health, or related subjects from a recognized University
Work experience: Relevant work experience in managing data in Microsoft Excel. Previous work experience with similar international NGOs, including the Population Council is strongly preferred.
