send hundreds of global citizens to work on collaborative development projects in more than 20 countries

in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. We are one of North America's leading international

ABOUT THE PARTNER ORGANIZATION

Gondar University offers about 42 undergraduate and 17 postgraduate programs. These are organized

under the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, five faculties (Faculty of Business and Economics,

Faculty of Natural and Computational Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Faculty

of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture) in a second college, and three schools (School of Law,

School of Technology and School of Education).

THE VOLUNTEER'S ROLE
Overall placement purpose and specific volunteer placement objectives:

The overall purpose of this placement is to contribute to the improvement of quality education by

providing diversified technical supports to Gondar University, Quality Assurance Office.

Specific Objectives:

• Undertake research and queries into quality standard and relevance in the university.

• Develop and document procedures for internal quality audits.

• Advise on good quality assurance practices and criteria for assessment.

• Conduct internal quality audit and assist quality audit report writing.

• Organize training and workshops related to quality assurance and relevance.

• Engage in the identification and replication of good practices.

• Support senior experts to develop program and materials and to build strategy and operational capacity within the university.

• Liaise with Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA) when appropriate.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Requirements

• A second degree or above in the field of education or related discipline • A minimum of 5-7 years working experience • Knowledge & experience of quality auditing in institutions of higher learning • Experience in organizing training and workshop events • Experience in research work and replicating good practices • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Desirable Requirements • Strong organizational skills and people management • Adaptable to working with limited resources • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team • Patience with people & slow administration systems

TRAINING AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Our training and support package covers the costs of being an overseas volunteer, allowing you to enjoy a modest but healthy lifestyle while you volunteer abroad. This includes:

most cost-effective travel expenses and accommodation costs).

• Coverage for required vaccinations, medications and comprehensive health insurance.

• Accommodation while overseas.

• A modest living allowance, which varies depending on the country where you are placed

• Quarterly payments to support you in your placement
