1. Topic: Consultancy services: todesign, develop, install and support implementation of school management information system at school for( Phase I : 7 months and Phase II 10 months)

2. Background

EMIS has been functional in Ethiopia for a long period of time. Great improvement has been noted in collecting education data and publishing basic statistics in education annually. MoE has currently educational statistics application software called StatEduc2, implemented in all the Regional Education Bureaus (REBs) of the country. The system is web-based database application system for data entry, storage, and processing.

3. Objectives

Objectives of Education Management Information System (EMIS) in many education systems include ensuring that education stakeholders at all levels can generate and have access to reliable data and information; and that policy makers, education managers and planners use accurate, timely information and relevant data to effectively operate and develop the education system.

4. Qualification of Firm and Experience RequiredThe consulting firm must have developed at least two MIS and web-based applications in the last 5 years. Team Leader/System Analyst- Master’s Degree in Computer Science and related fields-7 years of experience of which 5 years extensive experience in team coordination, system analysis, software design, software development, supply, and installation. Database specialists two- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and related fields-5 years’ experience .Software programmer two- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and related fields-5 years’ experience in software programming. 1) Background:-
Family Health International (FHI) is a technical assistance agency specialized in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, treatment and support programming, which provides technical assistance to the Ethiopian government as well as NGOs and other stakeholders in the response to AIDS in Ethiopia. FHI has been in Ethiopia since 1996 providing technical assistance in the areas of Family planning, research and HIV/AIDs. FHI-Ethiopia’s efforts are funded by the US government through the bilateral agreement between the United States and the Ethiopian Governments.
FHI 360-Ethiopia would like to invite well qualified and experienced Consultants to apply for the development of training manual and for providing TOT for master trainers on Household Vegetable Gardening.

2) Rationale of the Training:-
In order to build the technical capacity of implementing partners, FHI 360 will develop master’s trainer manual to provide Training of Trainers (TOT) on household vegetable gardening & Visual Aid to educate households and work with FHI 360-Ethiopia team to conduct HH assessment to determine baseline knowledge, skill, and willingness to engage in HH garden activity. FHI will also provide TOT to implementing partners who will be master trainers that can roll out the training and support the households to families of highly vulnerable children. The training will be provided using the master’s trainer manual on vegetable gardening which will be developed by the consultant. The training is supported by practical session for demonstration and exercise, as well as information about nutrition & food handling/storage techniques.

3) Objective of the Consultancy Mission:-
The main objective of the training is to build the capacity of Yekokeb Berhan implementing partners on household vegetable gardening by availing Masters Training Manual & Visual Job Aid and providing TOT for the Master Trainers of implementing partners so that they can roll out the training to the family of Highly Vulnerable Children and support the implementation. The main activities of the consultant will be: -
i. Development of household vegetable gardening masters training manual.
ii. Development of simple Job Aid on household vegetable gardening.
iii. Providing TOT on Household vegetable gardening training for staffs of Implementing partners and Yekokeb Berhan Technical team.
iv. Assist the FHI 360-Ethiopia team in conducting household (HH) assessment to determine baseline knowledge, skill, and willingness to engage in HH garden activity
v. Providing a one re-fresher training and household follow up visit on Household Vegetable Gardening implementation.

4) Summary of Activities:-
The consultant will carry out the following activities:

5) Deliverables
The consultant will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the following outputs relating to the activities outlined above:

• Household vegetable gardening masters training manual
• Simple Job Aid on household vegetable gardening.
• A 24-day TOT workshop on household vegetable gardening for staff of implementing partners and Yekokeb Berhan Technical team.
• One refresher training and household follow-up visit on Household Vegetable Gardening implementation.
• HH garden viability assessment report

6) Minimum requirements: -
• Minimum of MSc degree in the field of Agriculture or other related disciplines
• Minimum of 7 years of experience developing such type of manuals and providing TOT trainings
• Skilled in the facilitation of trainings
The trainer is expected to bring his/her best experience in the development of manuals and in providing TOT trainings on urban agriculture, specifically on household vegetable gardening. Candidates with overseas experience are preferred.

Background: Ethiopia is a diverse country with varied topography and demographics, which makes it highly vulnerable to both natural and man-made emergencies. Eight regions of the country (Somali, Afar, Gambella, Benshangul Gumuz, Tigray, SNNPR, Amhara and Oromiya) are identified as emergency prone regions as they are affected every year either by drought, flood and/or conflict. The recurrent natures of these emergencies along with pre-existing poverty affect the education of thousands of children every year. The ability of children to access education is severely compromised because of these emergencies as children drop out of school, school buildings become shelters or are damaged, school materials become damaged, schools remain closed for extended periods of time, teachers leave the affected areas and children and their families become displaced from their villages and live in temporary shelters for long periods of time.Objectives: To develop five year Strategic plan Document for Education in Emergencies (2012 ? 2016) with budget estimates. Thus FHI 360-Ethiopia would like to invite well experienced and competent firms and/or individuals to submit their applications to be available to provide consultancy services as and when needed by the organization in the following area: -

Graphic Designer

The consultant designs graphics for training materials (curriculums, manuals, guidelines and Job Aids) that are already developed and finalized. The consultant formats training materials (curriculums, manuals, guidelines and Job Aids) that are already developed and finalized. She/he expected to make ready the materials for final printing. The consultant expected to work closely with concerned FHI 360 technical person/team while undertaking the assignment.

Required qualification and experience: BSc in Graphic Design, Information Technology or Computer Science and training on graphic design software. Expertise of graphic design and formatting, , can work with Adobe photo shop, adobe illustrator and other graphic design soft wares, experience in designing and preparing camera ready print materials, and can submit sample works that are already printed.

• The consultant reviews curriculums that are already prepared by program staffs.
• The consultant will work closely with concerned FHI 360 technical person/team while undertaking the assignment.
• The consultant develops training materials, guidelines, simple Job Aids which is appropriate for community workers and households in the areas mentioned above as per the demand of the client.

Required qualification and experience:
BA in Education, Psychology or any related subject and expertise in developing training materials, Job Aids, Guidelines, Job Aids, Simple/ low literacy manual for community workers and household’s area.

Experiences in developing and/or reviewing training material that are focused on community based activities are highly appreciated. In addition, previous experience in developing and reviewing training curriculums and material in the aforementioned technical areas is required
